Daughtry on ‘Idol’ Wednesday
Saturday, May 2nd, 2009
Chris Daughtry is returning to the “Idol” stage on Wednesday, this time it will be with his band to debut their new single, “No Surprise,” during the show’s Rock Week.
Daughtry was the fourth-place finalist on the fifth season of Idol, eliminated from the competition on May 10, 2006 – which means his performance will be one day short of his elimination anniversary.
Thursday’s performance will also feature the band No Doubt (led by singer Gwen Stefani) and former Guns N’ Roses guitarist, Slash, who is this week’s mentor for the contestants.
I thought one of Daughtry’s best quotes in his statement was this: “‘American Idol’ fans have been so loyal to this band, we wanted to give them the first listen to our new single.”
I can’t wait to hear this lineup on Thursday, especially Daughtry.
Do you think he would have achieved all of his success if he would have won “American Idol” during season five?
