Season 5 runner-up Katharine McPhee has been keeping busy. In this publicity image released by ConAgra Foods, McPhee gets directions as she distributes lunches to children at LINC Houston, a feeding partner of the Houston Food Bank on Aug. 17 in Houston. McPhee was participating in a Hunger Free Summer campaign sponsored by ConAgra Foods Foundation and Feeding America.
Former Idol finalist Carly Smithson has a new band – We Are the Fallen – and their single is “Bury Me Alive.” Below is the video. It’s pretty intense, too. What do you think of the vocals?
Idol finalist David Archuleta joins the all-star cast headlining “A Capitol Fourth” concert, which will be broadcast live from the west lawn of the Capitol.
According to an Associated Press article today, CBS said that Paula Abdul will be a judge on “Got to Dance,” a competition expected to make it on the air sometime next season. She’ll also be an executive producer for the series, which is based on a successful competition that airs in Britain.
There’s no immediate word on when “Got to Dance,” which will feature various forms of dancing, will go on the air.
So with this announcement, does this mean that Paula is no longer in the running to be a judge for Simon Cowell’s “X Factor” in the fall?
We’re only a few weeks away from the finale of “American Idol” and I’m trying to recall some of the great performances on the “Idol” stage by the contestants.
There are so many for me: Bo Bice’s acapella performance of “In A Dream” and “Vehicle”; Carrie Underwood singing Heart’s “Alone”; and more recently David Cook’s “Billie Jean” and Blake Lewis’ “You Give Love A Bad Name.”
So let me ask you this: What “Idol” performances do you remember the most?
(Be sure to watch the end of this video … Ryan Seacrest is hosting in a T-shirt!)
Singer Bo Bice has announced that he will donate all of his proceeds from his single, “Long Road Back,” to a variety of flood assistance programs that are aiding victims of the recent Nashville-area flooding disaster. Click here to read more.
We didn’t see Kris Allen on “Idol Gives Back” but he’s been busy helping others as well. Allen, Season 8 winner, takes pictures with students from “School Without Walls” after speaking to them about his experience with the United Nations Foundation in Haiti, during a visit to Washington, on Wednesday, April 21, 2010. Allen visited Haiti with the Foundation and has spoken since about ongoing earthquake disaster relief efforts there.
Season 7’s Mr. Dreadlocks has a new CD coming on April 13 and his latest single – “All Wrapped Up” — got a first listen on People.com’s website. This is his second single since “Idol.” The first – “Let’s Fall In Love Again” – was my favorite, but this new tune is still pretty good. It definitely has a Beatles sound to it. Click here to listen to “All Wrapped Up.” Let me know what you think of it? Is this a top 10 hit?
