Were you nervous? I mean, really, seriously… seeing Nick Mitchell and Adam Lambert together made me wonder during the commercial break whether or not America pushed the phone numbers more often for Mitchell more than Lambert.
Mitchell was funny on Wednesday night, I’ll give him that. But this isn’t the Last Comic Standing. So thankfully, my pick to win “American Idol – Adam Lambert – joined young red-headed Allison Iraheta and a surprised Kris Allen as the next three in the top 12.
I watched the Wednesday’s show again today and believe there are a couple of people they will bring back to potentially be in the wildcard slot: Megan Joy Corkrey, Jesse Langstreth, Kai Kalama should all be invited back to sing to compete for the wildcard position.
What did you think of Kara’s annoyance with Simon tonight at the judge’s panel. I thought she handled herself rather well. There was no stuttering, no shivering in her voice (like Paula when she snaps at Simon) … Kara was strong, made her point and told Simon to let her speak.
She’s a good addition to the judge’s panel. “Idol” did themselves a favor by adding a fourth judge, especially a female. I like Paula, but it got to a point where I was waiting and waiting for her to give her long, drawn-out critiques so I could hear what Simon was saying. This year, they’ve switched the chairs around a bit and the judging (so far) has gone pretty smoothly.
Finally, I loved seeing Brooke White back on “Idol.” Her performance with the piano was good, but I listened to a portion of the song on iTunes and it was so much better. I think it will be a hit on iTunes, but not so sure on radio.
So I need your thoughts on four questions:
Do you agree with the three selected tonight?
What do you think of the judges?
Do you like Kara?
Did you like Brooke White’s new single?

I liked some of the performances tonight, but two blew me away: Allison Iraheta singing “Alone” by Heart and Adam Lambert’s “Satisfaction” performance. Ready for this prediction? I think if Lambert can channel his over-theatrical performances, he will be the next “American Idol.”
With that said, I think both Iraheta and Lambert are no-brainers into the top 12. Who will be the third? I liked Kris Allen, Matt Breitzke, Kai Kalama and kinda liked Megan Joy Corkrey.
Comedian Nick Mitchell … whew, buddy! … what a disappointment. He’s gone! And Jesse Langseth has an outside chance of getting in, too.
Allen showed me some good stuff tonight, but I thought Breitzke and Kalama received a raw deal from the judges. Both of their songs were well sung and I think both could bring a lot to the “Idol” table, especially Kalama. Obviously, he looks more current than Breitzke. But Breitzke could potentially bring some rock ‘n’ roll to the top 12, which it desperately needs. There is no Daughtry or David Cook in this crowd, is there? Breitzke could be the man to fill that void.
So, what do you think? Who is in your top 3 from Group 2?

Ready four Group 2 on “American Idol” tonight? Here is who you will see, but not sure of the singing order:
1. Adam Lambert
2. Allison Iraheta
3. Jasmine Murray
4. Jeanine Vailes
5. Jesse Langseth
6. Kal Kalama
7. Kris Allen
8. Matt Breitzke
9. Matt Giraud
10. Megan Joy Corkey
11. Mishavonna Henson
12. Nick Mitchell
Don’t forget to come back tonight and post your comments about the show. Maybe you’ll even be able to vote for your favorite performers!
Based on name recognition, we all know that Nick Mitchell is the “Idol” comedian. It will be interesting to see what he brings to the stage tonight: Comedy, singing or a little bit of both. Would he dare go where Weird Al Yankovic or Cledus T. Judd have gone? Also, will voters tolerate him in any kind of comedy act. The guy can sing, no doubt about it. He has shown it. But it will also be interested to see how the judges react to him. They’ve told him to show his comedic side, but how much will the allow?

The Los Angeles Times has a great story on former “Idol” finalists Michael Johns and Carly Smithson where you’ll read updates on their upcoming music and also on whether they’ll be singing together sometime in the future.

Last year’s “American Idol” winner David Cook has been moving up the charts with his new song “Light On.” You can watch the video to this tune on his website.
Remember last year’s great stage moment when he sang his version of Michael Jackson’s song “Billie Jean”? Still gives me chills! What a great performance.
Do you think anyone in this year’s lineup of “American Idol” finalists have the capability of performing like this?

“American Idol” has arrived again. I don’t really like to count the last two weeks. We just sit back and watch people get their yellow slips, or become dejected when they’re not selected.
Now we’re at a point I like: Fan voting.
So we’ve had a lot of new things this year already: A new judge (Kara DioGuardi), a new way of selecting the top 12, and a new set of singers/personalities.
One thing is for sure, there were at least two strong singers in Tuesday’s line-up. Danny Gokey (right) sang Mariah Carey’s “Hero” and had to be the judge’s favorite. Alexis Grace also brought the house down with her rendition of Aretha Franklin’s “Never Loved a Man.”
Of the 12 performers from Tuesday, who will be the third to stay in the competition? I will say it’s going to be Ricky Braddy, who sang Leon Russell’s “A Song For You.”
What do you think?
