Click here to check out this BubbleTweet of Danny Gokey and Matt Giraud hamming it up in front of their web cam. I think I saw imitations of some “South Park” characters, maybe a little Adam Sandler and not sure but there could be other imitations as well. Wow, it was sure funny to watch … I had to watch it again! (I’ll warn you that the intro kind of makes you jump because it’s so loud.)
Several original members of the multi-platinum band Evanescence have formed a new group and Carly Smithson – “Idol” Season 7’s sixth-place finisher – is the lead singer.
You can listen to the first single, “Bury Me Alive,” on the band’s home page at WeAreTheFallen.com. The new single can be downloaded on iTunes or Amazon. Love the band’s cover-picture with Smithson featured.
Had to record and watch last night’s episode today. Any highlights? Bikini boy Ty Hemmerling was funny and odd all at the same time, but was it a set-up or was this guy real? In case you missed it, a raw YouTube version is below.
Best line of the night goes to Kara on her way out of watching bikini boy: “Don’t move your hips like that, honey. It’s not a good look.”
A couple other tidbits about the Denver auditions:
- Simon once again says “infectious” during an audition. I always thought that was Paula’s word to use. In this episode, he used it on 16-year-old Haeley Vaughn, the girl from Fort Collins, Colo., who was born a 2-pound baby.
- Nicci Nix, 22, of Florence, Italy, was an interesting audition. Can she be an AMERICAN Idol? Just a thought.
- 16-year-old Tori Kelley, of California, made some noise, but her sister had to have helped with drawings of all the judges. That was a cute segment, although it was funny when Simon said Tori looked like a “human orange” in her outfit.
- Victoria Beckham proved once again that she does a great job as judge. Could she replace Simon on “Idol” next season? Maybe she’ll wind up on Simon’s “X Factor.” Either way would be fine with me. I just wish she would put on some weight … not much … 5-10 pounds… I’m afraid she might blow away!
- Kara’s compassion for some of those auditioning is touching. And really, deep down inside, you can see that Simon is a softy, especially when little kids come in to visit him. I like these judges … at least for now!
Everybody … let’s start singing: “Pants on the Ground, Pants on the Ground, lookin’ like a fool with your pants on the ground!”
Larry Platt – songwriter and performer of the now-famous “Pants on the Ground” audition from this season of “American Idol” – holds belts as he dances on the ground on the Red Carpet at the Grammy Awards on Sunday in Los Angeles.
Season 3 finalist Jennifer Hudson – now a Grammy and Academy Award winner – made an appearance on the Red Carpet of the Grammy Awards on Sunday in Los Angeles.
Recognize these guys? Plenty of former “Idol” finalists were at Sunday’s Grammy Awards. Among them were: last year’s runner-up Adam Lambert (left) and Season 1 runner-up Justin Guarini (right).
Carrie Underwood (at left) won a Grammy Award for the best country collaboration with vocals award for “I Told You So,” with Randy Travis. Here, she holds her award backstage at the awards show on Sunday in Los Angeles.
Associated Press also captured a photo of Underwood with her fiance, NHL player Mike Fisher (at right), as they arrived at the Grammy Awards.
